Summit on Solstice
Update:
We did it! What a cold, dark and daunting ride. After 16 hours of rolling time (about 20 hours total time), 122 miles through an average of 37º F, we topped out at 29,029′. Thank you to everyone who supported our attempt—we couldn’t have done it without you.

We are planning our all-time biggest climbing day on the shortest day of the year. On Thursday, December 21, 2017, we are attempting to “Everest” Bonny Doon road. Everesting is climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest (29,029′) by repeating a single climb. To complete the challenge it will require ~27 trips up Bonny Doon Road to Smith Grade. Come join us for a lap or two, or 27.
Start time: 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, December 21.
Estimate time required: 16+ hours
Base camp: Our support van will be parked at the base of the climb (see Strava activity below)
